I'm brewing an American pale ale tomorrow. Brewers best kit. I want to add 1 pound of corn sugar to bump up the ABV is this a good idea!

A pound is probably too much depending on the recipe. I'm drinking on a pale ale right now that I put 15 oz in on a whim, and I wish I hadn't. It is a bit too dry and thin. I would just do 4-8 oz, if you want more ABV than that will give you then add some DME too.

I added 1 lb of table sugar to my beer after Krausen fell. My beer came out just fine. You can add any sugar you want.
