Sorry for the double post. It's been so long since I've been here I didn't know we finally got a BIAB section. LOL
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did one batch last year and it came out pretty good so why not again?

I'm calling it Keawa`ula Ale after a bay on O`ahu that the ancient Hawaiians called Keawa`ula because of a type of shrimp that use to come to the bay and turn the waters red. Ula is red and I guess keawa is shrimp.

Any hoo here is the recipei for a 1.9 gallon batch which should produce 3 six packs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Started w/2.9 gallons in mash tun/BIAB.
Lost about .2 gal to the grain
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After 60 min boil I had almost 2.2 gallons so I had to boil another 15 min
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 lbs 4 oz Am 2 Row
4 oz Caramel 120
4 oz Caramel 80
1.5 oz Melanoiden Malt
------------------------------
0.25 oz Columbus Hops at 60 min (wound up dong 75 min boil as I had to reduce volume for the fermenter)
0.5 oz Centennial at 15 minutes (really at 30 due to above)
1 tsp Irish Moss at 15
0.5 oz Cascade at 5 min (really at 20 due to above)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 pk Safale US-05 Pitched at about 80*
--------------------------------------------
Just about 1.9 gallons in the 2 gallon paint bucket so I put in a blow off tube. It's sitting in my fermenting freezer which should be set to about 65*
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I upped the 15 and 5 minute hops from last years brew. Hope for more flavor and aroma this year.
