Amarillo Hops

Where did the name come from? I know they were produced in Washington and how to brew with them, but I'm just curious about the name.

Hmmm I think they are a proprietary strain so we can't get plants, I imagine the guy who bred them just came up with a name.

Could always call Virgil Gamache Farms and ask them

Amarillo is Spanish for "yellow." Lupulin is yellow. I dunno.

Also, if my line of reasoning is correct, it's "ahh-mah-ree-oh" and not "am-uh-rill-oh"
