I have just bottled my first PM using FlyGuy's modded Victory cooler - 5 gallon

I took some samples, naturally, and I am simply amazed how smooth this brew is - I made it for a 40th birthday party in Sep.

I am asking if I have the right gear to go AG, brewing 1040 - 1050 ales..

5 gallon rubbermaid MLT
8 SS gallon brewpot
4 5 gallon plastic fermenters
2 5 gal glass carboys

outdoor propane cooker

Do I take the plunge ??

You should probably get a chiller.

Why do you have only 5 gal fermenters? no 6 or 6.5 gallons ones so you can make 5 gallon batches?

Sorry-

The fermenter pails are 6.5 gallon...the secondary glass carboys are 5 gall

I have a chiller, sized for 5 gallons...takes abt 20 mins to get it to pitching temp

It sounds like you are good to go! You should be able to mash about 12 - 13 lbs of grain in that 5 gal MLT no problem. That should get you up to about 1.065 or 1.070 beers, depending on your mash efficiency. Take the plunge!
