Anyone have a good all grain recipe for 5 gallons? I just saw this got posted twice not sure why sorry about that. I did find a recipe however.
10 lb. American 2-row
1.5 lb. American Vienna
.75 lb. American crystal 40L
.25 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 70% efficiency
70 minuite infusion mash at 154 degrees F
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.046 7 gallons
Hops: .25 oz. pERL (6.3% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.8% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. pERL (6.3% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.8% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs California Ale

But can anyone tell me how much mash water to use for this amount of grain.
 
Here is another recipe for 6 gallons. You could scale it back for your equipment.

Okay I just checked the Papazian book and it says 1 quart per pound so shouldn't it be closer to 3.1 gallons for mash? Last time I did an all grain I had 12 pounds of grain and 4 gallons pushed me to the max in my 4 gallon cooler.

that will work...1.33 is just a rule of thumb, since your doing a single step thats what i recommended, (as opposed to a multi-step where i start with 1 qt per lb, for the protein rest then add 1/2 the amount boiling h20 to raise the temp)

1-1.5 qts per lbs works...
you just dont want a 'thin' mash, thicker is better...
 
I see you have a boston ale clone could you give me your recipe. I tried one and it is close but I would like to try another one.
