I have had my belgian triple in the secondary for about a week now (haven't had time to bottle) and I notice the airlock was sitting on the ground next to the carboy. Being as high in alcohol as this beer is, I am wondering if there is any real sense in worrying about infection. My main concern is I had it fermenting in my basement, which is a old new england granite type basement. Just kinda creeps me out since I don't know how long it had been left out open. Appreciate any help, thanks!

Probably fine, but better safe than sorry. I've heard this sometimes becomes an issue with carboys (especially glass) and rubber stoppers because starsan is so slippery. I can't remember the ingenious solution to the problem.

Anyway, like I said its probably fine. But re-sanitize and get it back on there.
