A few months ago I acquired an All in One Wine Pump, which I now use for racking and bottling. It is a great tool, and I recommend it. I use bottle carbonation on my ciders, but a recent batch of cider had very little carbonation, even though I added the same amount of priming sugar as previous batches.
Maybe I measured incorrectly, but I was wondering if the degassing effect of the AIO pump was a factor. If vacuum racking and bottling pulls additional CO2 out of the cider, then maybe I need to add more priming sugar. Has anyone else experienced this?
