Hello folks!
This may have been asked somewhere else but I am looking for your expert advice on the possibility of using the product in the below link as a 15 gallon FV. I have been racking my brain looking for a couple of affordable FVs for 10 gallon batches. These 15 gallon drums are advertised as being good for food storage but they do not (not that I saw) state they are food grade. They are new and any issues with an airtight seal should be easy enough to overcome. Any advice on these will be appreciated..... as well as any advice on a different direction!

Thanks!

Cleaning might be hard because there is no way to get inside it. Plastic containers that are not designed as fermentors often have plastic edges from manufacturing that will make it even more difficult to clean. Open headed would be easier to clean.

Might as well spend $30 more and get a conical, I would think.

I dont know if these are the cheapest or the best, but at least you can get an arm in there to clean it.
I hate cleaning stuff, so maybe I'm just hung up on that part of it...

Thanks for the input. I just saw the spiedel 15 gallon FV. It's $40 more but it has a built in valve for pulling samples and transferring to a secondary or racking. I am looking for something that will fit inside my refrigerator and the spiedel looks life a good option!
