My brew today ended up being about .5 gal. short (boiled off too much) and a higher OG than I anticipated. So about 4 hours after I pitched my yeast I realized I could just add a little boiled/cooled water to hit my numbers. By the time I opened the lid to add the water there was already a healthy layer of krausen on top. I added the sterile water and gently rocked the fermenter to help mix it in which caused the krausen to fall back into the beer. Is there any problem with doing this? Or should I have just poured the water in and left it? Thanks in advance
