I've just brewed a Belgian (hopeing Duvelesque) & a recipie I've got from a clone brews book calls for the addition of 1 lb of corn sugar (boiled in a pint of water) & some fruit juice to the secondary. It hardly seems practical or even accurate to try and take another gravity reading after the addition. Does just figuring maybe an additional .008 sound about right? I've seen posts around here about adding sugars to the secondary but not about adjusting the gravity. How do you handle it? Or is it not worth even bothering? Just curious.

If it's a 5 gallon batch I would tack on between .008 and .010 to the original gravity.
