I have recenetly got my hands on some yeast nutrient and I was wondering if I could add it to my 5 gal. batch of mead I have fermenting. Is it too late to add it? Will it even do anything at this point? It is about 2 weeks into fermenting.

Depends on the recipe, the type of nutrient, starting gravity, current gravity, etc etc.

If the distance between the SG and current gravity is more than 1/3 (presume dry at 1.000), then probably not.

If the nutrient is DAP (white crystals) then it won't get absorbed after the 1/3 break. If its fermaidO (as different from fermaidk) then it would be ok, if its not the "O" then only add some cooled boiled bread yeast, as that will act as organic nitrogen.

Plus you should probably give it a damn good stir/aeration.
