Adding corn sugar to primary

I didn't hit my gravity on a IIPA I brewed over the weekend, it's been in primary for about 5 days now and activity has stopped can I add corn sugar to up my alcohol? If so how much per gallon?

It will boost your alcohol but you risk drying out your beer and losing mouthfeel if you add too much. I used it in a barley wine before and it turned out fine.

It adds about 46 points per pound per gallon. A pound in a 5 gallon batch will raise the gravity about 9 points.
