I'm in the boil process of a home brew and the recipe I got online called for 8lbs extract. I bought dme extract but I think the recipe was intended for lme. I put in around 7 lbs of dme extract before realizing my mistake. Is there anyway of fixing it? I'm still doing the boil right now. Thanks!

7lbs of DME is roughly 8.33lbs of LME basically ... don't worry about it, you'll get a bit of an ABV boost but not much...

Enjoy your stronger beer?

In a 5 gallon batch (5 gallons into the fermenter), a pound of DME only adds about 0.09 to your gravity. You'll have a higher gravity and alcohol brew but I don't think it'll be terrible. What style of beer is it though?

If you really want to hit the exact number, you could add more water, but that would also mean you might need a larger fermenter, and also more hops to bump up the recipe exactly.

In other words, I think you'll be fine as is
