A quick question on what I just bought

and 3 piece airlock

can they be used with eachother? can the airlock be pushed in the carboy plug. Reason for the newbie question is because its hardly fits just making sure i didnt waste money thanks.

Does the bottom of the airlock not fit the bigger/shorter opening on the carboy cap? It might be a little snug, but that is where it goes.

yup... the carboy cap is the only way to go IMHO... the airlock takes a little working, but will fit into the center hole, then leave the white cap on the other hole. When it's time to rack, take out the airlock, insert racking cane, and blow into the other hole...

I use them exclusively.
They're great if you have CO2. You can use gas to push beer with 'em.
