I have about 20 batches on this system but have not yet done a hazy. Does anyone have a good base grain bill and water volume for a Hazy that is in the 8 gallon range? Any help would be great
I haven't pushed the limit on this system yet.
So far I am fathoming something like this
12 lbs Pale 2row
4 lbs flaked oats
4lbs White wheat malt
1-2 lbs of rice hulls
18 gallons of water I think this will spill over though
OG 1.078
FG 1.020
7.61% range

My favorite grain bill for a NEIPA:

77% Briess 2-Row Malt
10% Weyermann Pale Wheat Malt
10% Flaked Oats
3% Honey Malt

No rice hulls needed (in my mash tun). Can't really adivse you on water volume, which is very system/process dependent (driven by things like grain absorption rate (which can be impacted by your crush), your unrecoverable dead spaces or other losses, and your boil off rate). Also depends on the amount of hops in the recipe. Hopefully someone with a Spike Solo will jump in to advise on some of those things.
