And my last beverage recipe from German-American Folklore, a really interesting drink.
Aside from #58 Spruce beer, this recipe looks really interesting to me and I think I might try it when I get a chance. Let me know what y'all think of this old migrant wine recipe!56. Dandelion Wine
Pick just the blossoms, cutting stems off close to the flower or the wine will bitter. Put a gallon of blossoms in a kettle with a gallon of water.
Let it stand for 3 days.
Add the yellow rind of 3 lemons and 3 oranges. Boil 15 minutes, then strain. When lukewarm add the juices of the lemons and oranges, 4 pounds of granulated sugar, and 1 yeast cake.
Set in warm place for a week. Then strain and set away for 3 weeks longer. Then bottle.
Elderblossom wine is made the same way.
