I got mine this week and used it to pack some hops today. I usually use our household Foodsaver but its bulky and I thought this would be worth trying since it can be dedicated to
Pluses:
- Does what its supposed to
- Compact
- Allows sealing the first end of bags made from rolls practically right at the end vs. wasting about an inch of material every single bag.
Cons:
- Need 3-4 hands to use it by the time you hold the bag in place and snap the sealer closed
- SUPER easy to hit a button and make it start sealing when cutting bags or positioning everything
- Cutter is just adequate. User has to hold down the bag. Its awkward.
All in all, its good for the brewery or occasional home use. I wouldn't replace our Foodsaver we use a few times a week. But I could see bringing it to the kitchen to make bags along side using the Foodsaver to seal them for higher throughput when we have a lot of packaging to do.
