Hey is it worth cleaning and installing an airlock to a 5 gallon glass container for homebrewing after it's been half full of pennies? Is it possible to remove residue entirely using bleach, vinegar, soap, and elbow grease? Keep in mind the pennies were thrown in, potentially scratching the glass. I appreciate your opinions on the best supplies to use and in what order? Thanks!

Fill with 160F water and then add a ton of oxiclean free. Let it soak overnight.

Copper won't scratch glass; you should be okay there. Have you just washed it with soap and water yet?

After that, maybe wipe it down with some full-strength household ammonia (10% if you can find it) and let that soak for a while to dissolve the copper. Then wash it again.

Is the lid a true wide mouth mason jar lid, or is it one of the 110mm lids? Or something else?
