5 Gallon Carboy Question?

This sounds dumb but since I've never actually measured, where is the five gallon mark on a five gallon carboy? Right at the neck? Where the glass starts to curve inward towards the neck? Somewhere in between?

There's an indentation that forms a ring at the top where it starts to curve in, that's where the 5 gallon mark is.
