4 days to FG?

Well almost...

Did BigKahuna's Reindeer Fuel Stout Recipe (AG)... Pitched it on top of a yeast cake from EdWort's Haus Pale Ale and the thing took off like a scalded dog... Four hours later I was looking at a 1/2 gallon growler filling with blowoff krausen....

Figured I would take a gravity reading today and I went from 1.067 to 1.028 since Saturday afternoon...

Am I dreaming or is this common with pitching on a yeast cake?

More yeast needs more food, so yeah...it will ferment fast! I pitched a pumpkin ale onto an cake once before and the same things happened.

I'm washing my yeast now and then repitch the correct amount. Still is pretty explosive, but I didn't like over pitching so much.
