I actually have this and use it for 3-5 gallon batches on the stove. I have a weldless valve and bazooka screen on it. Can't beat it for the price.

On full batches you have to watch boil over I have a 40qt. And I still have to feather the flame to avoid boil overs

that indention in the pot, it's suppose to hold up the grate that holds the food being steamed, right? is there enough space below the indentation to install a heating element?

Most likely. I currently have a bazooka screen and there seems to be ample room with the steamer on it. I have used it as a base for biab from time to time.
