Hello, I have a 3 prong dryer outlet and came across these:

30 Amp Inline GFCI (gfcistore.com)

has anyone had any experience with these? a touch more expensive than a spa panel, but it seems these will be more suitable for a 3 prong wire outlet with H/H/(N & G)

I have read of people buying from this web site and never heard of anybody being dissatisfied. There are similar products on Amazon and ebay.

These cables have advantage of coming premade, or easily made as opposed to installing a spa panel, which is not so much a DIY project.

Plus cables are portable to your next home or your buddy's house.

Technical note. A L6-30 is H-H-G. There is no Neutral. While Neutral and Ground appear to be the same, and are at the same potential, they are not equal. To confuse the two could inspire a very negative outcome.
