Just did a test run on a cold plate I bought to be used as a chiller. Just used the ice from the freezer.
This worked to chill 150 degree water in one pass to 76. Will buy 40lbs of ice tomorrow because I am chilling 30 gallons. I do use a herms coil with cold water to help this and kind of act as a pre chiller. Hopefully this will shave 30-60 minutes off of brew day.
