I brewed my first high gravity beer two weeks ago today, and I am STILL getting action from the air lock ! I'm getting bubbles every few seconds.
Is this normal ?

with larger beers they can take longer to ferment

I wouldn't trust your airlock

take a gravity reading with a hydrometer

what did you brew ?

I made a Saison.

I'm planning on taking a hydrometer reading asap, but the way that it's bubbling, I'm just a wee bit nervous. Especially after a near-explosion, and learning a VERY important lesson about blow-off tubes !

I started at 1.13 (+/-), and after two weeks, I am at 1.078. The final is supposed to be around 1.016. NOW, I am REALLY concerned !!!

I'm not sure if I should pitch another yeast, let it rest a little while longer, or just drop back and punt, although with all the money spent on this batch, that is the ABSOLUTE last option !

I have not made a Saison.

I have heard that temp control is important with that style

you may have lost some of your yeast during that agressive blow-off/out and the ones left are still eating away at the sugars and breeding.

I think, just an opinion, you should wait it out test the gravity in a few days

hopefully someone that has brewed a Saison will chime in on this
