So my buddies and I have finally gotten our 40 gallon kettle working. We brewed a Kolsch yesterday, no sparge, 22 gallons and 35 lbs in the mash tun. First time using the 30 gallon tun and overshot mash temp by 15 degrees (!), so lots of stirring.
The dimpled cylinder in the center is the CFC, taken from a dairy tank. Chilled 18 gallons to 65 in 10 minutes!
Only have one Chugger. I'm wondering how I can improve this setup. I know it's pushing it, but I would like to get 30 gallons final brew. I was considering a second pump and doing a Brutus 20 kind of setup.
Any thoughts?
