2 Gallon Jar, can I use (2) new scoby's to start brew?

Hello Everyone,

1st try:
I bought a 2 gallon jar and (1) scoby my 1st time. brewed 2 weeks, and it came out weak, but good. I'm thinking my scoby was too small for the 2 gallon jar.

I brewed another batch and got mold and threw out everything.

2nd try:
OK, I'm going to buy another scoby. The question is -> should I buy two scobies for my 2 gallon jar?

Thank you for any help you can provide me. I love Kombucha tea and I'm determined to be successful....
