Hi All.
For the 1st time ever I am about to put a second keg in the frigerator.
That is correct, I have never had 2 in there at the same time, so I have some questions.
1st fact: I do not want to buy anything or change any hardware. All I brew is IPA's.
2nd fact: I usually carb at 30 PSI for 2 days and then 20 PSI for 1 day and then bring it down to 12 PSI.
3rd fact: So the 1st keg is fully carbed and has been there 2 week now , was set at serving pressure 12 PSI after 3rd day and it works and tastes great.
Equipment facts:
  • 2- 5 gal torpedo kegs,
  • 1- 5# C02 tank,
  • 1 -regulator
  • 1- 2 port manifold
The Question:
1. When I put in the 2nd keg in the fridge on day #1, can I carb that 2nd keg up to 30 PSI and then turn it down to 12 PSI pressure on regulator so #1 keg can serve correctly?

Thinking that the 2nd keg would work on absorbing the 30 PSI of pressure and 2nd keg would at least be always at 12 PSI no matter what.
I'm sure I can go deeper on the questions but I think I'll leave it at that for now.

I have one regulator with multiple kegs. When I want to burst carb a new keg, I just shut off the gas (at the manifold) to the existing kegs. Since keg #1 is fully carbed, you should have no trouble pulling a couple pints while keg #2 is carbing.

Thanks Carolina Matt.
I have took your advice and did that this morning.
