I have a pound of whole leaf cascade hops and I want to dedicate a batch of beer to this pound of hops. I am struggling with what to do with them. I love me a good IPA or IIPA but I have brewed many of those in the past. I am thinking a big brown or black ale, but not cascadian dark ale....with roasted character but not to over the top.......I really am open to all ideas if anybody has a unique idea to burn a pound of hops.

I do 11 gallon batches if that matters.

Looks like a nice beer, but I would have over half my pound of hops left over! I don't want to have to vaccume pack up all the whole leaf hops, I want to take advantage of their freshness....after they are opened they just aren't the same.

I suppose I could ramp up the base malt and hopping on the yooper pale ale and make it yooper double pale ale....

Actually, you are going to have to make 20 gallons.

But you won't be disappointed. This is my House Ale as well. It's delicious.
