Has anybody ever built a 1.5 barrel system using all SS 55 gallon barrels? I mean everything: HLT, MLT, Boil Kettle and fermenters, all SS 55 gallon barrels.

have seen a couple of guys doing it. i haven't seen 55 gal fermentor but it you could weld a cone on to the head and invert the drum i think it would work well. there is another guy that has and electric setup in the basment, i am planning to use a rubbermade food safe trash can as a Mash Tun

I'm building this system as we speak, EHERMS 9000watt HLT and BK. I not using the drums as ferementers, but I am using 3 of them as brite tanks. I have three open top ones for the BK, MLT, MLT and I am using 3 closed tops as brite tanks. I will pressurize and move the beer out of the tanks with Co2

That thing is sweet! the barrel housing on the drums is a nice touch.
