Well HBT, the science (of my local grocery store) is in! 18 Brix is the human threshold for pleasure.

Please adjust your recipes accordingly.

In that case i don't think i've had a peach with brix above 10 in about as many years.

I've completely given up on buying stone fruits. Whatever varieties they are growing nowadays are trash. They have no flavor, no sweetness, never ripen correctly and are just a fcking waste of money... and they aren't cheap!
 
Am I the only one that thinks this is a horrible marketing tool. The standard is mediocrity? Sure, they made the words on their standard sound good, but the standard is still a "meh" peach.
A better strategy would have been to make their standard the top of the shown scale.
