I was wondering if anyone had any input on when to harvest the cones. What should I be looking for to know they are mature and ready to be picked? I am sure that they have some more time left on them but I am curious. Thanks for all the info.

I water depending on the heat and other factors but it did rain a lot last night. I thought is could be too much water just was not sure since the other plants were still looking fine.

cool! all but one of my rhizomes has sprouted... 2 cascades, 1 nugget, and 1 willamette.Still waiting on the centennial to pop out. I need o get a camera then figure out how to post pictures on here:). Happy Growing!

Now there are two cascades out and a willimette! My nugget and centennial have not sprouted yet but they had no sprouts when they were put in the ground. sure they are fine just need to give them some time:)

Woke up this morning and went out to check the garden and I was happy to find my first rhizome has sprouted. It is a Cascade. I put up a small fence to help keep animals out. Hope to see some more growth soon.:)

just got my rhizomes in the ground today! tilled up a spot in the back yard. Made a trellis out of 16 foot aluminum posts. should have good weather for starting them this weekend here in VA. cant wait to see them break ground!:)
