    Trader Joes Vintage Ale 2009

If you had one unibroue beer, you've had them all. Well, not really at all, but their yeast character is pretty consistent among all their beers I've had. Anyone know what strain they use?

    New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat

Haven't had the Dancing Man, but if it is as good as Black Wheat or Crack'd Wheat, count me in for sure. Kanderna, taking a trip up to Wisconsin for NG products is definitely worth it. The Unplugged series are pretty widely available and delicious.

    Russian Imperial Stout

I think it's the ABV that makes the difference in almost all (including this one) cases. Obsidian=6.4% Brookyln Black Chocolate = 10.6%

    Russian Imperial Stout

BCS is tasty if you're willing to wait a couple years for it to be palatable and hopefully not oxidized. Things you have a chance of actually finding on the shelf: Rasputin and GD Yeti

    Drink Barleywines right away?

I think for most of the recent (within the past few years) regular Alesmith stuff, you can't really tell. If it was older than that, there are some slight changes in the bottles to help identify. That's all I can tell you. If you email them, they'd probably help you out if they can. Brewers like...

    Drink Barleywines right away?

Indeed. Old Numbskull is somewhat readily available so I would drink now or whenever you get around to it, and if you see potential for aging, grab another bottle...or 12.

Worst Beer Ever! --- Left Hand Brewing Company

I have mixed feelings about LH. It has been a little while, but I've had several bottles/batches of each. I found the Polestar to be terribly bland and watery, not offensive just not good. The Blackjack was pretty solid, but there are MANY porters I would chose before it. Milk Stout-cloying...

    Beer Score!

PLUS ONE. Well, I didn't think it was THAT weird but definitely quite good.

    Twin Cities Beers

Don't forget about Barley Johns. Both are very very good. Get Surly. Sneak into Wisconsin for New Glarus. Blue Maxx in Burnsville (i think) has a great beer selection.

    I never understood "horse blanket"

$3 for Orval! wow, what a steal! Orval tastes like feet wrapped in burnt leathery bacon, and it is delicious.

    Alesmith is wonderful

Really. I had BA Wee Heavy last night. Incredible. Tonight-Decadence 07-also very good. All others I've had have been great. Looking forward to my 03 BA Speedway.
