    Do I have crap caps or did I overprime? What now?

    Thanks all. They were just a bag of cheap caps, it is either the capper or tired hands. Ah well; live & learn. They are pop top stubby bottles; I've never had an issue with them before. Should I try making some malt vinegar with the partial bottles? Any thoughts? Thanks

    I bottled a pilsner about 2weeks ago. I noticed that about 1/3 of the bottles have leaked about 1/3-1/4 of the beer out (they were stored horizontally.) This was the first time I've had this issue, which leads me to wonder if I bought crappy caps or if I overprimed. Did I possibly just do a sh|t...

    Is my lager yeast viable? How do I tell?

    I threw it in the fridge, after 48ish hrs, for a quick 12hr cold crash. Just pulled it out and the SG is 1044. I'm assuming the yeast was non-viable and am going to pitch Saflager S-23. Whipped up another starter as I'm now going to be pitching into 10gals of lager.

    I made a 1.5L starter (1040) of DME. Room temp (20C). Rehydrated the Coopers Lager yeast that came with the selection pilsner. This yeast was stored on the shelf at the store, and I'll be fermenting at lager temps (13-15C). At 36 hrs now, and I don't know how to tell if it is viable, as it...

    Glass carboy, didn't taste, airlock did stay filled. Well; this may only truly be answere in a few weeks when I drink it. Projected abc of about 6%. Fingers crossed!

    I brewed this all grain beer in June. Added coffee beans and ground coffee in secondary as instructed. Then left it....for five more months....and bottled it todY. Any thoughts on how this will effect taste/drinkibility? Thanks :)...
