    no bubbles?

I wouldn't worry about a secondary on a hefe. It's supposed to be cloudy anyways. Leave it in the primary for a couple of weeks and bottle. As far as your fermentation goes, it sounds very normal to me. It will go like crazy for a couple of days (I've even seen it last as short as 1 day)...

Yet another all grain first time- Biermuncher's Black Pearl Porter

I did this beer last year. It's great. Make sure you give it a lot of time in the bottle. I still have some around and it just gets better with age!

    horrible partial mash

I have a question about the rice you used. Did you use flaked or Minute Rice, or did you use plain uncooked rice? If you used the flaked or Minute rice, you should have gotten conversion because these are processed in such a way that they are ready to mash normally. If you used regular rice...

    Maltodextrin Powder?

No worries. It is a very common ingredient. Just add it to the boil. I used it in my porter and was very happy with the result.

    First AG... F***

One idea is to perhaps buy some MO or GP online for a batch or two and then use what you can get locally after you know more what you you are looking for.

    No Hop Stout

I'm not sure where you're buying your supplies, but most online retailers' hop prices have come way down. Just glanced at Midwest for an example and all of their 1oz packages are under $3.00 and they even have glacier as low as $1.50. It seems like most places have a good selection right now...

Does this look like a good AG kit?

+1 on the above links from wilserbrewer. This is similar to what I have in my setup and it works great. I think I paid $20 for the cooler at Kmart and like $2 for the braid. Add in the tubing and I spent $40 max on the whole thing.

2nd AG brewday and 1st AG taste!

So, I'm on vacation this week, so I decided that I needed to brew my second AG. I brewed up Biermuncher's Black Pearl Porter. My effeciency sucked, but I'm not too worried about that. Only one hiccup today. The inlet hose on my immursion chiller was loose and was spraying some water right...
