    Harry Potter Kegerator Advice

I went out in search of a chest freezer this weekend, and the results have led me in a new direction. My dead freezer has the heat transfer lines on the outside. All the new freezers I looked at keep them internal to the freezer, so they all lose about 2" in interior depth. None of the...

    Harry Potter Kegerator Advice

I may be able to fit a few more inches into the depth, and height is flexible with the collar. In the width, I have about 1.5" of play, though this area of the house it out of plumb by about 3/8" over the course of 3 feet, so it may be a little less than 1.5". I can't imagine a fridge wider...

    Harry Potter Kegerator Advice

After 2+ years of wonderful service, my chest freezer kegerator has stopped getting cold :( Following internet advice, I tested the resistance on the compressor, and the resistance seemed within the acceptable range, so I replaced the starter & overload. Started it up again, and still no love...

    Question about Carbonating with Gyle....

Not worrying is always an option :) There are any number of ways to approach this. One would be to decant the starter beer from the starter before pitching. Another would be to make the starter match the beer, so you can pitch the whole volume with no worries.

    Unclear on "Correct" keezer temps!

+1 for 45F. Great temp for brewing lagers too.

Looks great, RobertHSmith. I especially like the regulators in a line. Is that a custom setup?

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm still amazed myself when the whole thing rolls into the hallway. My friend Jon builds cabinetry for a living, and he did a amazing job, especially with the tight space and wonky angles in the house. The industrial rollers are similar to what are used on...

    Show us your Kegerator

For the last 1.5 years, my keezer has lived in the basement, where I brew. Space is tight upstairs, and now, we've found the space to make it work. Action shots:

    avanti kegerator mod

You can force carb at any temp, you just need to adjust the pressure - http://www.kegerators.com/carbonation-table.php Since you moved the freezer assembly, I'm wondering if it might be too close to the temperature probe, if you know where that is. If all else fails, you could try a temp...

Variety of Ball Lock Corny Kegs

I have 25 kegs, and I have also found that the posts don't always match. I replace all the seals with ones from McMaster, and that plus keg lube has solved all of my leak issues. http://www.brewboard.com/index.php?showtopic=34669

    Pour is all foam

Personally, I refuse to put my beer in lines where I can smell the plastic.

    Pour is all foam

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/cure-your-short-hose-troubles-100151/ I purchased enough of these to keep one in each keg. It makes a world of difference with 5' lines. I use two if I'm serving with a cobra tap at a party. Technically they aren't FDA approved, but I've not had any...

    Dip Tube Gasket

I replace all my gaskets with new ones when I buy a keg. You can get them cheap here - http://www.brewboard.com/index.php?showtopic=34669

    Basic Kegging Questions

The answer to too much foam is balancing your lines versus pressure. http://kegman.net/balance.html So, choose the correct pressure for your beer - http://www.kegerators.com/carbonation-table.php And then increase the beer line length or use these -...

    corny lid seal help

The kegging guy at my LHBS always recommends seating with 30 psi, which is what Cornys were designed to properly seat the lid. I've not had any leaking issues, but might be worth a shot. Since the kegs are rated to 100+ psi, maybe go a little higher than 30 if you're still having issues.

    Smallest Freezer for 6 kegs?

It wasn't that difficult to make, and it does seal properly. I only went that route because I found some cheap 4" wood, and didn't realize I'd need 6" to be able to cleanly move the brackets. Eventually, I will make a 6" collar so I can fit 6 kegs in there.

    Smallest Freezer for 6 kegs?

+1 for the Magic Chef 7.2. I have a triangular collar, which was suggested by my LHBS. Nice in that you don't have to move the brackets. If I wanted to hold 6 kegs, I'd need a 6" regular collar.
