bottling from keg - how long will carb last.....

I've gone 6 weeks with the BMBF. Very little carbonation was lost in the head space.

    Using the micromatic line cleaner

Either install an empty cornie and pump into that or on the top of the QD there is a screw driver slot that allows disassembly for cleaning. (dont loss the seals or spring.)

    QUICK label removal

That does seem like a quick way, but next time wear gloves. The first bottle that shatters can turn quick into recovery time. When I bottled I used the soak method and collected many different whole labels to cover the kegerator with.

Best way to attach drip tray

Industrial double sided tape. I can set a full beer on it without any sag.

CO2 tank in Fridge: Pressure reading

the easy way to determine if you have a slow leak is to remove gas in QCs from the kegs, pressureize the system the turn off the gas at the tank. Periodically note the pressures of you gauges. with nowhere to go the pressure readings should not change over any amount of time. if the pressure...

Groom thinking about gettin into kegging...

First my condolences or congratulations, which ever is in order. :D #1 keg a few first or do a lot of research, No one wants to serve a poorly carbonated beer at their wedding. #2 As long as pressure is kept on them they will be good. Some have pressureized and depressurized several times and...

    silicone beer line?

I recall someone else trying it. Luckily they opened the kegerator for some reason and found the line ballooned up near the shank a few days later. It would not have been a pretty thing to pump 5 G of beer into the bottom of the kegerator. Good luck.

    very slow leak

Sure you can buy sprays actually designed for leak detection but starsan works works well and keeps the area sanitized.

    ? making a keg purchase

I use a garden sprayer after removing the spray wand and clamping a bev out post to the hose. No need to waste CO2 that way.

    Help with buying new regulator

Yes you can unscrew the gauge and add more regulators, but some regulators use a reverse thread so finding the connecting pipe usually take a trip to a weld shop if you happen to get left hand threads. As for your first question, brand preference, I dont have one. I'm using cheap surplus...

    Storing sanitized kegs?

once sanitized there is no reason to leave the star san in it, but it wont hurt anything.

    Filtering...

I cold crash the primary then rack to the keg. After carbonation I transfer to another keg for serving. Only the first beer is a little cloudy.

    Bottling from keg

Get the empty bottles as cold as possible. Use a tube or racking cane shoved into the faucet so you can fill from the bottom up. Do a search for BMBF.

Micro Matic Regulator - Economy Series vs Premium Series

according to your link I would say the major difference would be the inlet seal composition and seat composition. It also states a sintered bronze filter, but i think that is standard for most regs. The rest is all bling. Based on those two facts and the equal price I would go for the deluxe...

    Wow Free Jockeybox for me!

I'm a big fan of SS since it requires so much less cleaning( I'm a lazy SOB). My faucets and shanks are SS for that reason. It appears that you have chrome plated parts, and the chrome has been pitted. If you clean regularly it probably wont be too much concern. Try it and if you notice any off...

    Wow Free Jockeybox for me!

Many taps are chrome plated while the cold plate should be SS tubing encased in AL. You are probably safe with the cold plate. God I love SS, it willing takes so much abuse.

    Wow Free Jockeybox for me!

On my plate it is 1/4". I would venture to say yours is too since it was plumbed with a sanke tap and all shanks I know of have 1/4" nipples. 3/16 tubing will fit on the nipples with a little stretching.

Need some carbed keg testing ideas....

I dont think it is over carbed. it takes me a couple days running 30 psi to carb a keg not just one shot. I think it is your line size. change it to 3/16 and about 8 ft long. I run 12-14 psi with that size hose and have not carbonation or foaming issues. also check out this thread...

    Wow Free Jockeybox for me!

Since you are replacing it I would drop to 3/16. I have a cold plate but have not had a chance to do anything with it yet. The plate ID is 1/4 so I think it will have the same problems a keg has without the output lines running 3/16.
