That’s what I’m wondering I may hit up my LHBS and see.

So this is a pretty typical grain bill for me, only difference is when I do a grain bills like this I do a 2.5 gallons batch instead of a 3.5. The expected O.G. on the 2.5s are mid 1.060s instead of mid 1.050s I was hoping for here. Edit: have done up to 9 lbs and hit O.G. at 62%.

I have ALWAYS hit my estimated O.G. From brewers friend at a 62% efficiency- this one came out at 52%. I’m really not sure...

True, seems odd to add the manual brew option though if their hands were tied though. Still feel like that one may have been in works for a while though and someone just decided it was time to flip the switch.

If they truly were going under and wanted to support the community they would release the ability to self host a server locally to continue use. What makes me feel like they have hope to sell or are still looking to be a company is right now thats still proprietary and something they can market...

I love my Z, can’t argue the company hasn’t been the best. I think they will get bought. I think Pico Paks are dead / anything that’s high in operations cost. Some subscription model seems to make the most since especially if it’s just for software, bigger bang for their buck. On a positive...

Thanks, I will give letting it soak a try. Been having an issue lately where by the time I hit adjust 2 on my clean cycle, its drained the keg of water and overheats it self trying to pump nothing sense the keg is empty. Everything else seems to work fine just seems like you need more than 2.5...

Anyone use PBW for deep cleans? I know it says not to but I got sick and wasn’t able to do a deep clean or rinse after a big stout (been sitting for 3-4 days now). I really want to avoid wort darkening and at one point said screw it and used PBW on my Pico Pro to solve that issue. The Z to me is...

I got an applied discount for my Pro to my Z purchase. They just had me keep the Pro which was nice.

While it does take the automation part out of it a bit I have started doing my adjuncts like whirlfloc, lactose, random ingredients on my own by removing the keg stopper. I started that after seeing my adjuncts didn’t get fully dissolved.

I’ve been wondering my self, what systems are closest to the Pico in automation? I’d actually love to go to a bigger system but I want something with a large amount of automation or programmability. I’ve heard others mention the Brew Boss but I’ve also heard mixed reviews on those.

As others have said the ship hasn’t said yet but theres no reason to not contingency plan! I totally agree with their given situation recourse is probably limited, can’t go after a ghost. That being said someone will pick up the Pico idea and even name and run with it again but in a digital age...

I’m being ignorant here and call me a millennial but in 2020 I just find it very hard for them to go dark with no recourse, refund, or some sort of we f**ked up package. ESPECIALLY, for folks who just bought a Pico Z in the past year. It could take quite some time to see anything of it but you...

I'd hope before that ever happened we'd get an offline patch of some sorts.

Was thinking that as well is there a good dilution calculator out there?

Thats exactly what I was thinking! I'm glad to hear you had success with it, looks good!

So I wasn't aware that the Brew Crafter and Pro Crafter were separate - the Pro Crafter has way less options available. On a side note has anyone tried a reiterated mash on the Z? It seems like a great way to get up to 3.5 gallons of a high gravity beer out of the Pico. I am looking to try...

For water amounts I’ve been doing (0.125 x grain weight) + intended batch size I’ll have to ask my LHBS what crush they are using

I’ve been following that thread only issue I’m having is I don’t see an option to do bypass instead of pass through.
