    I'm not brewing another batch

I used to wear the nonslips that I'd wear in the restaurant, and my knees and back would kill for 3 days after brewing. I bought these at the beginning of the year...

Anyone multi-task smoking barbecue with home brewing?

I do it, but for me, it's not that big of a deal because I have a Traeger Texas elite. Just set it and forget it. I also have a true wood fired smoker, but when I use that, I am focusing on just food. This weekend I'll be brewing a mac and jacks style amber at my parents house, and they have...

    Next purchase

I've thought about getting a mill, but for several reasons, it keeps getting passed up. For one, I don't have enough room currently in my brewing area for it to keep the mill, and store extra grain. The biggest reason, though, is because I feel like I get a pretty good deal currently with my...

    Can't wait to keg

I use this website to figure out pressure for carbing. http://www.tastybrew.com/calculators/carbonation.html Pretty easy from there. I used to do the 25psi for a day and test, but I find that I don't lose much time doing it the new way, and I don't overcarb anymore.

    Dry Hoping Comercial Cilyndroconical Fermentor

I wouldn't cold crash until after dry hopping. From what I've read, if you dry hop after cold crashing, the time you dry hop has to be extended. It takes longer to get good aroma at lower temps.

    Dry Hoping Comercial Cilyndroconical Fermentor

Pretty sure there are different ways to skin a cat here. Some people will pull the yeast trub and then dry hop. If you have a conical, this is the way I would recommend. I ferment in Sanke kegs, and actually dry hop near the end of primary fermentation, so the yeast can eat up oxygen from the...

I fell into running boil kettle (photos)

Damn, that is brutal. All I can say is get better. My nonslips from working in a restaurant are trashed, and I've been putting off getting a new pair. I slip once or twice every brew day, but luckily never near the kettle. This just seals the deal. Ordering a new pair before my next brew.

    New Equipment Quality Questions

Where did you get this from? Is the reputable company you bought it from the maker, or the seller? If you know who made it, call them. Either way, QC needs less beer breaks.

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

10g of a Cascade pilsner smash, and just brewed 15g of blue moon with lemondrop

    Malt Mechanics Conical Fermenters Kickstarter

I like the idea of these because of the small footprint they take up. I haven't found a 15-20 gal plastic conical that isn't 20"+ wide. I currently use vittles vault's and they are 14" wide, and I like them, but they are a pain to harvest yeast off of. This is definitely something I want, as...

How many gallons of homebrew in 2014?

10 gallons of German Alt + 9 gallons of Wheat IPA + 10 gallons of SMaSH Pale + 11 gallons of Vanilla Oatmeal Stout and counting. Hopefully 3 more batches left this year. 36,622.5

    Bud American Ale

Has anyone seen the commercials for the Budweiser American Ale? I am a little embarrassed to say I am excited to try it. What do you guys think?

should i re pitch or not

Well I had already put it in the secondary. It still tastes good though. I am dry hopping it now, How long do you guys recommend dry hopping before kegging? P.S. I have thought about tossing it into a keg and dry hopping it more in the keg. will that be ok or will the aroma get out of control?

should i re pitch or not

I have an amber that should have gotten to 1.013 and its at 1.02-1.019. I had it in the primary for 2 weeks and then put it in the 2ndary. Could I repitch in the 2ndary or am I now left with a 1.019 brew?

    SA Long Shot

Ya I was wanting to try it too. I saw that he won and was thinking "that sounds incredible" Thats why I was hoping he was on here to talk to him about it. I live in So. Oregon and there is not a wiff of Russian River stuff up here. Probably because all of the local breweries.

    SA Long Shot

I was reading on Sam Adams' website about this years longshot winners. I was wondering, who here entered? what did you enter? How did it do? and If your planning on doing it again this year. Also, are any of the three who won this year, or last year on this website?
