attaching a garden hose to the "out" line of your wort chiller

I've been using the same garden hose for 3 years. Just buy the cheap one ~$10. Tip from my experience is make sure you have fittings for the "water in" on your plate chiller. First brew I realized a standard water hose won't hook up to your plate chiller for the water in side. I had a set of...

    Sick of Worm Clamps

I use cheapo zip ties on all my silicone from keggle to pump to plate chiller. No leaks, just tighten with a second tug after the hot wort has softened the silicone a little.

Getting rid of soot from my burner

Not necessarily true. I have two of these cheapo turkey fryer burners. I noticed my one fat large diameter pot doesn't get any soot but my taller skinnier pot is LOADED with soot every time, no matter what burner I use (2 diff brands of turkey fryer). Both pots are 9 gallons but the skinnier...

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

Do you mix the Oxyclean with TSP-90? I've seen threads of guys doing that and saying it is almost identical to PBW or comparable cleaner. Thanks

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

Wynne-r, I only used 1 tbs per gallon with hot water. The picture may look like a lot but it was from 5 gallons and I decanted the rest until it fit into the mason jar pictured. It could definitely be OneStep that fell out of solution but it looks coagulated more than grainy. I had no idea the...

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

Nobody knows what this is? Is it bacteria or clumped together OneStep cleaner?

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

Here are some pics. It looks granular but clumps together and is pretty gooey.

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

I don't know if anyone else has experience this but everytime I store One step cleaner sanitizer in my plastic fermentation bucket or my plastic better bottle carboy white stuff always appears. I never use to have this issue with my glass carboys. It Clumps together and looks like a cloud...

Do I really need to sanitize before kegging?

Don't get me wrong, I just sanitized before kegging my two beers. I was just pondering while I was... on the can!

Do I really need to sanitize before kegging?

Just a thought, but if I purge all of the oxygen out of my keg do I really need to sanitize my autosiphon? Doesn't bacteria need oxygen to grow? Just a thought as I am about to keg two batches. What do you think?

Interesting find.... is it a brew kettle/fermenter combo?

Almost looks like something they'd use on a dairy farm.
