liquid-out ball lock installed at bottom of fermenter

Why not use the sidewall TC for a liquid out post?

liquid-out ball lock installed at bottom of fermenter

Your liquid out post is mounted in the 1.5" TC fitting on the side using a floating dip tube. Are you talking about the silicone dip tube hose kinking from the liquid out post as the beer level drops within the tank? I don't think this will be an issue. Test it with water first to confirm...

liquid-out ball lock installed at bottom of fermenter

I wouldn't like to isolate the PRV/gas post on the sankey adapter from the hop dropper by using a three way valve. keeping the sankey adapter in the system at all times is useful for venting and purging. If you have room, perhaps you can get away with installing a BFV on the top of the tank, and...

liquid-out ball lock installed at bottom of fermenter

@Deadalus Correct. The hop dropper assembly only gets attached when being used, otherwise the BFV is closed & capped.

liquid-out ball lock installed at bottom of fermenter

My vote is to avoid NPT at all costs and try and stick with as much TC and sanitary welded parts as possible. Sidewall mounted floating dip tube is no problem and should work fine. Also ideally would be to avoid high krausen by utilizing ferm cap to reduce the chance of clogging a corny keg...

    My home-brewed keg washer

What spray ball are you using? How happy are you with the upward spraying action from the Riptide pump?

    Complicated Immersion Chiller

Bad ass. I assume the most difficult part is creating the 3 individual spirals of tubing with some sort of bending jig/setup? How’d you spiral the coils?

    Cleaning sanke d kegs

Printed the retainer removal tool and it worked like a charm. At that point I needed a 24” piece of 1/2” diameter aluminum rod to slide up the bottom of the tube and hammer out the ball in order to completely disassemble the stem allowing for full cleaning/sanitizing.

    Abrasive For Stainless Steel

Some pictures would help. https://benchmarkabrasives.com/products/2-quick-change-surface-preparation-wheel-very-fine-silicon-carbide?_pos=2&_sid=8c98fd89b&_ss=r I find these surface prep wheels do a great job of blending down the material just prior to polishing. I think you’re fine using AO...

    Cleaning sanke d kegs

That’s legit. Even though I don’t use my spears, I have a pile of about 10 of them. Gonna have to print this just in case.

    Cleaning sanke d kegs

The spear removal tool is a great if you will be using the spears. I opt to ditch the spears and go for the ball lock adapter with integral PRV and floating dip tube with a screen.

    Stacking fermenters?

Yep, I linked those in my first post. You don’t have to pressure ferment unless you want to. All that consists of would be a spunding device that you adapt to the gas post like a Kegland Blowtie. Just run a blowoff tube from the gas post to a jar of starsan as an airlock. Fermenting in kegs is...

    Stacking fermenters?

Curious what ruled out the mega mouth kegs Better price, better pressure ratings, made for stacking.

    Conical Fermenter

Not what you asked for, but I’m a huge fan of keg fermenting and utilizing floating dip tubes with screens. Saves money, robust (stainless>plastic), multipurpose, and keeps a resale value.

    Stacking fermenters?

I'd consider the Torpedo Megamouth Kegs. Megamouth Torpedo Ball Lock Kegs | MoreBeer (2) 6 gallon versions would stack up to 41" tall.

    Corny Keg Showdown

https://www.micromatic.com/en-us/corny-keg-5-gallon-ball-lock/p-z1tx09iizUyLU_rBbCgGpw If money is no object I'll go with Micro Matic. Otherwise I'll stick to rebuilding vintage Cornelius' or buying new Torpedos.

    Cleaning a sanke keg

I ferment and occasionally serve from sankeys. Rather than invest in a high output pumping/heating/multi product commercial style cleaning system, I really like the tri clamp ball lock adapters with floating dip tubes. Basically turns them into a corny. Sankey ball lock adapter
