    March 815 pumps - still a standard?

Spike is the quietest, has the highest flow rate and highest PSI output. Sounds like an easy choice 😉

Glycol chiller for 2 7g conicals

Our new Glycol Chiller is currently on pre-order for 15% off! It has a huge reservoir which works well with jacketed tanks as they use so much glycol volume.

    Stainless CFC Choices

Couple benefits of copper (other than being 30x more thermally conductive) are copper ions react with sulphur to form copper sulfate and this reduces the amount of H2S which gives the rotten egg/taste in beer. It also has been said that it can help with head retention.

    Stainless CFC Choices

Copper is very widely used in brewing and distilling so there’s really not an actual concern there. PBW and Star San are fine. As an example our chiller would chill 10gal in about 10min and it would be able to get down to yeast pitch temps (as opposed to 90F like you stated).

    Stainless CFC Choices

What’s your concern with copper? There are actually a few benefits to using copper outside of way better heat transfer. We’ve tested stainless inner coils and it would need to be 10x longer to have the same cooling.

That info hasn’t been released yet but will be shortly. Stay tuned.

    Conical fermenter recommendation

If you're looking to go stainless check out the Flex. It's about the same price as the NB but with welded fittings has an upgrade option to pressurize up to 15psi! https://spikebrewing.com/products/flex

    Glycol got in beer

We weld these parts with a fusion weld as stated. Been doing it for probably 5 years like that and this is the first broken weld we’ve seen. Who knows what caused the break but we replaced it for the customers.

Plate Chiller found on Spike Nano vs Exchillerator Brutus Counterflow

Our plate chiller is specifically sized for the 1bbl Nano and all the fittings are designed to attach between kettles, chiller and fermenter. The Nano should have also come with a tee fitting to plug a temp probe into the outlet. Page 13 of the User Guide talks about the plate chiller as well...

    Spike Brew Pump

We've put 1000's of hours on many many pumps during development. Endurance testing, real life brew days, worst case scenario testing and it's performed amazing at every turn! Haha that's a better attitude than some. Some people think since we use a TEFC motor that it's a "copy" of an existing...

Northern Brewer Stainless Steel Wort Pump vs. Blichmann RipTide

The Northern pump is just a white labels cheap-o pump. It move wort but it'll be slow and you won't be able to use a CIP ball with it. If you haven't seen already, we're launching our new pump later this year. Check it out! https://spikebrewing.com/products/spike-brew-pump

    Spike Brew Pump

While we can admit the motor is similar (TEFC motor style) this pump is a ground up design done by Spike. The performance specs back that up as the flow rate and PSI ratings are about 30%+ of what the Blichmann is. The built in chopping tines on the impeller help reduce the chances of clogging...

    Spike all in 1

Congrats! The pre-order sold out super fast! To answer your question, this can be used really for any type of beer. Pressure fermenting and spunding might be more style dependent but adding pressure for cold crashing and/or pressure transfers into kegs can really be used for any beer! If anyone...

CF10 Users with the conical heating pad:

We test all of our heaters in our walk in cooler which is about 40F. The heaters can get the fermenters up to about 75-80F in those conditions. We can't speak for SS's insulated jacket however. Also as a Pro Tip, you can tape your heater to the cone to increase the thermal transfer.

    Spike - Steam Condenser Lid

You can go either route. If you want to conserve water we'd recommend recirculating. With that method you'll use about 5 gallons or so. If you don't want to swap a bucket then you can just let it flow into a drain and it'll use more water.

    Fermenator G4

Take away the $10,000's of dollars in tooling costs for the lid and piping? So we're talking about a nozzle in a pipe? This ain't gunna go anywhere productive ha ha Cheers!

    Fermenator G4

The resemblance is uncanny! The reason Bobby (A Spike Dealer BTW and an awesome one at that!) and us come up with similar products is because we are both so in tune with the market. I'm sure he'll see this thread and chime in as well. The steam condenser was not invented by our engineering team...
