Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

With so many posts it is hard to find an answer in here so I am going to do the unthinkable and be painfully redundant with what many others have said. I have been fighting problems with my March Pump losing prime during my sparge. I switched the orientation of the head so inlet is down and...

    Discuss: Pump Priming

I think gungadin was referring to beerthirty not your valves. I think the only thing that would worry me about your valve system is that they could get sticky and not seat back properly. Have you ever had any problems with this set up?

Can this be done? DIY gas manifold?

Nothing like flogging a dead thread but ChiCompany has great prices on these manifolds. About $38 for the four port with check valves. Also expandable.

    Local Home Brew Shop Prices

I understand but I think the business model is flawed. I think you do better with more customers. I think in general most HB would want to support LHBS. Wouldn't they sell more products with more customers? Maybe your right and they just can't make it any other way but I tend to think that...

    Local Home Brew Shop Prices

I agree that it is a delicate balance. The LHBS does so much for us and our "craft". From the recent Big Brew Day to club support. I agree with PP that I am happy to pay a reasonable mark up to support them, add the convenience of quick access but $11 for a 1/2" NPT F/F nipple is absurd...

I have thought about approaching them but I don't want to strain what relationship exists.

    Local Home Brew Shop Prices

I want to be able to support my local shop. I really do. I think it is important and a foundation to the health of our hobby. But how do I do it when their prices are so high. I was in a pinch for a 1/2"NPT M/M nipple and they charged over $10 a piece! That is almost 3 times what places...

Problem with building ribcage IC - physics teachers?

OK... as you can see from the pic it is time to make a new chiller. Two questions for you all. 1. Is there a reason you can't make a standard chiller and then just pull every other coil out slightly instead of rolling two separate coils? 2. Which is better, 25' of 1/2 or 50' of 3/8? Ooops...

I would love to hear what Bobby finally settled on and how it is working. I blew up a brew day yesterday pretty bad and the March Pump was definitely one of the many killers I encountered.

"polishing your keg" is more than a clever euphemism

I am pretty sure Bobby has pics in his video.

    Pre-made or Homemade False Bottom?

@ Bobby, Let's see this was only three years ago... What was your final take on SS braid v. FB? What are you using now.

I like it. She wants to brew up an IPA on Sunday so she will get to break in the new shiny keg and the new March Pump.

"polishing your keg" is more than a clever euphemism

I am almost done with mine and ready to put it to use for the first time in 8 years. The wife wants to know if it will actually make brewing her beer any better... :fro:
