Has anyone tried to apply what Athletic Brewing's techniques to home brewing? Any tips or advice? I'd really love to make a good tasting NA beer at home. Thanks!

Cheap temp sensor that works with Blichmann’s Tower of Power

Hello! I am a very happy use of a Blichmann Tower of Power. I use it to monitor/automate my natural gas-powered burner for my HLT (I have a home grown HERMs system). It works quite nicely. Over time I’ve purchased a few additional temperature sensor assemblies from Blichmann (see here...

Milk Stout bottles flat. Pop caps and add yeast to carbonate?

In February I brewed a delicious Milk Stout. I bottled and waited patiently. Sadly, after several weeks they were flat. I waited. Still flat. I waited more. Same thing. I'm not exactly sure what went wrong. I bottled with ~3.61 oz's of corn sugar and let set in an appropriate place. I've never...

Concerns building a wooden brew stand with two gas burners

Not entirely sure why it wasn't working (I confirmed with incognito mode) so I added it as an attachment.

Concerns building a wooden brew stand with two gas burners

I'd like to build a wooden brew stand and use the two Blichmann floor burners I currently own. Attached is a very quick sketch with the burners highlighted in the red rectangle. I'm concerned about the potential danger of the burners sitting on what's essentially a wooden bench. I've...

    Temperature controller for HCM071LC.

The "All-purpose Temperature Controller STC-1000 Whit sensor" also looks good and seems to be reasonably priced. When I went to the Dwyer website for the Love product I got confused - would I want 110 VAC, 230 VAC, or 24 VAC/DC?

    Temperature controller for HCM071LC.

Okay for me to bump this thread? Still looking. Thinking about the Love TSX ... but, to be honest, I haven't the foggiest idea of how to do it yet. :) TX!

Haier 7.1 cu ft freezer for $175 at Costco

I'd really appreciate it if anyone would be willing to share their notes on how they converted this freezer into a keezer. I'm not particularly handy and will need all the help I can get! I plan to have four kegs inside and my 10# CO2 tank outside. In addition to turning this into a keezer...

    Temperature controller for HCM071LC.

Hi all! I just bought the Haier HCM071LC 7.1 Cu Ft Chest Freezer and I'm looking to get a good temperature controller. Any recommendations? In fact, does it matter which one I get? Thanks, Wade

When to add piloncillo (or partially-refined sugar)?

I went with @onthekeg's suggestion (as it was the only response when it was time to decide) but next time I'll give @bobbrews's suggestion a try - I like the sound of it. Thank you both!

When to add piloncillo (or partially-refined sugar)?

Hi all, I'm going to brew the Saisoon Buffon from Radical Brewing today, and it calls for 1 lb of piloncillo (I was able to get turbinado). My question is when to add this? During the mash? Before boil? During boil? After boil? Thanks! Wade

What dimensions should a closet for a chest freezer be?

You are spot on. I just looked up the clearances required for the model and found that it's 4" on the sides, top, and back. Looks like I'll need to go with at least: 45"W x 60"H x 30"D. Thanks so much!

What dimensions should a closet for a chest freezer be?

I've decided to go with 40"W x 60"H (just to ensure there's enough room to open without obstruction) x 30"D. Seems sufficient. Thanks!

What dimensions should a closet for a chest freezer be?

Funny! I'm actually going with the first definition listed here. I hope this clarifies.

What dimensions should a closet for a chest freezer be?

Appreciate the feedback and it's a good point you make. The design from the builder takes this into consideration. I'm simply looking for some advice regarding the dimensions. Thanks!

What dimensions should a closet for a chest freezer be?

Hi all, We're getting our basement finished, and I'm having the builders build out a closet that will be large enough to put in a chest freezer (much like the Haier HCM071LC 7.1 Cu Ft Chest Freezer) that I'll convert for kegs. I need to get them the exact dimensions for the closet but I don't...
