    Brew Control Panel Help

I went with the ezboil. Found a guy on Facebook that's an electrical engineer and has built 5-6 panels himself that is building it for me in exchange for a few beers.

    Brew Control Panel Help

So I have decided to go with the EzBoil from Auberins. (Can't get to stilldragon's site as it keeps telling me that it's compromised or something). Was looking at this DIY kit http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=55&products_id=620 It doesn't state that it comes with...

    Brew Control Panel Help

I have no problem maintaining my mash temp with the SS Brewtech infussion MT and the temp control heating pad. Usually only lose 1° F at the most over the course of an hour mash.

    Brew Control Panel Help

Definitely going with the EzBoil from what you all are saying. Thanks for the info. I already have a three vessel system, all SS Brewtech gear,15 gal HLT, 20 gal mash tun, 20 gal BK, two chugger pumps, and all quick disconnects. So going to BIAB would leave me with a lot of money worth of...

That does look fairly simple. You have a DC pump? Do you not have a heatsink for the SSR? I thought they needed them. Appreciate the help.

    Brew Control Panel Help

50A? For a 5500W 240 V element on the electric brewery, Kal says to use a 30A breaker. And I'll need a probe with the ezboil? Or just with the PID?

    Brew Control Panel Help

The more I read the more confused I get. Lol I like the simplicity of the ezboil but everything I read says to use a PID. I don't like that you have to have a temp probe hooked to the PID or else it throws an error. Barring that decision, I definitely want two 120V plug-ins for both my pumps...

    Brew Control Panel Help

I like that EzBoil. Sounds like what I would want/need. dilligafbrewing - do you have a schematic you used to build yours? I have 2 chugger pumps that I would need to hook up also.

    Brew Control Panel Help

So if I'm not going to be doing RIMS or HERMS and only having boil kettle heating element do I really need a PID? Care to post a link or two to some good threads to read? Thank you.

    Brew Control Panel Help

Bensiff - I am fine with using propane to heat my strike water and sparge water for now and the near future. What is the difference between aubers power controller and a PID? I don't have the service for a 50A panel at this time so really will only be doing single element. jddevinn - I have...

    Brew Control Panel Help

Probably a rehash of other threads but I've searched and read to no avail but to confuse myself. I have brewed for years and want to go to electric. I will buy a 240v 5500W element kit from Kal at the electric brewery. Although the control panel they sell is completely out of my price range. I...

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

So I put it into a 6.5 gallon carboy. Let sit for a few days. It was smelling pretty sour. Yesterday I pitched a 1L starter of wyeast 1056. This morning it's happily fermenting. Super acidic. Lots of krausen.

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

Thanks everyone. Getting some distilled water now.

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

What exactly is making it unfixable?

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

Just dregs. But one bottle was a straight Brett Brux beer. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Home Brew mobile app

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

This essentially is/was supposed to be the starter. Being there is no alcohol yet they should still work up to a certain alcohol level right? Assuming they are still viable. I pitched 2 Cascade dregs of 10%+ beers, so they should be fairly tolerant. Again this is my first experiment like this...

Starting gravity way to high, what to do?

So I was going to do a sour experiment with bottle dregs. Using extract, I accidentally calculated for a 5 gallon batch instead of a 1 gallon batch. OG was supposed to be about 1.054 and it ended up 1.175. I didn't realize this until I put everything into beersmith the next day. I used 3lbs...

    Possible new Homebrew club?

Lake Stevens here. Looking to split batches. I'm almost more into just seeing how the final product is then getting on to the next brew. I'm somewhat experienced (about 20 batches). Would like to double and triple that number very soon. I've got a complete all grain set up. 5 gal. HLT, 10 gal...

    Everett homebrewer! Anyone else?

I am in Lake Stevens. Right across the HWY 2 trestle. Been brewing for about 2 years. Probably close to 20 batches. I like brewing different styles. Recently brewed a Berliner Weiss. Got 2 Imperial Stouts going, the Berliner, and an Adam (Hair of the Dog) Clone. Some collaboration batches would...

Lost some yeast. Pitch more days later?

I used a smack pack but the top blew out and I lost all but about a half cup of the yeast. I saved it as in the pic. I don't know by volume how much is in those packs. Thinking back now, I should have gotten 2 packs anyways. My OG was 1.082 (2 packs). Pitched last night around 11PM. Being a...
