We no need no stinking beer gun...

Man, that hose idea is genius. I think I'll give that a go since I do have some extra laying around. I did set the regulator to about 3 psi but still seemed like more beer was foaming out of the bottle then going in. I tried two bottles with both only about to fill halfway.

We no need no stinking beer gun...

I feel like this is dumb question that should have been covered before but I was unable to uncover anything. So, I tried this out today and it was just foam....foam everywhere. I'd like to try again, and I even think I know what I was doing wrong (pressing against the bung too much while...

New Product! Cool Brewing Fermentation Cooler

Alright, two 1 liter bottles and two 16oz bottles seem to have brought it down to 66F which is closer to where I wanted it to go. I would like it lower (at least in the initial fermentation stages) but, again, have space issues in my freezer and barely have enough room to swap out what I have...

New Product! Cool Brewing Fermentation Cooler

Wort was 71F when placed in the bag. Fifteen hours later still 71F. I swapped out one of the bottles and added two more frozen ones and it seems to have helped a little, lowering it to 68F within a couple of hours. I would try 2 liter bottles but am limited for space in my freezer. I have a...

New Product! Cool Brewing Fermentation Cooler

Yes, lid is closed and sealed. The bag is being stored in a dark closet that has an ambient room temp of about 72-78F. Is there any specific technique I should be using? I have the bottles placed against the carboy at the moment. Also, is too much extra space in the bag an issue considering...

New Product! Cool Brewing Fermentation Cooler

Hey everyone - Reading about how much luck everyone is having with these makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. Fifteen hours after placing my 3 gallon better bottle carboy in the bag with two frozen 1 liter bottles I'm seeing no change in temp. I've taken measurements with both the...

99 Problems and BIAB is one

Alright, thanks guys. I'll start working on my pitching and fermentation temps. I've also purchased a cool brewing fermentation bag because...well, that's how addicted to this hobby I am. Still not sure how to dial in my gravity though. But i guess the consensus is that this isn't contributing...

99 Problems and BIAB is one

How are you keeping your kettle covered while it's cooling? No cover? Trash bag? Kettle lid that has been sprayed with sanitizer?

99 Problems and BIAB is one

So, quick follow up question, how long can you let wort sit in an airlock sealed carboy before it's no longer safe to pitch the yeast? I have a wort chiller but ambient temps aren't allowing me to get the temp below 80F. I've just been pitching and letting the temp drop over a 24 hour period...

99 Problems and BIAB is one

Hey guys, Thanks for the quick responses. -I will start opening the pot less, maybe limit my grav and temp readings to every 30 minutes. To be honest, it was kind of a pain checking every fifteen. I've been okay with my temp loss but less is better. -I get my grain crushed at my lhbs...

99 Problems and BIAB is one

Hey guys, Long time lurker, first time poster looking for advice on dialing in my gravity figures brewing with BIAB. I've been extract brewing for 3 years and just started doing AG BIAB batches. I've done three batches so far and all have been pretty lack luster and no where near as good as...
