    OG and Fermentation question

I've been having similar issues from my first several batches and and wondering what I might be doing wrong. I have two questions: 1. I follow the instructions on my kit almost 100% ..as close as I can get. I never seem to hit the advertised OG ..normally I'm just a little off (my last batch...

    DIY Tap Handle?

The paddles are pretty good. You can do a lot of things with those. Not sure if it already has it, but maybe spray paint some of that chalk board paint on one side, and have an artistic person do something on the other (that makes a "2 in 1" handle). :mug:

    DIY Tap Handle?

What exactly are you looking for? You can take ALMOST anything, tap a hole into it, and make it a handle. If you're looking for blanks, try EBay, or sometimes Craigslist. I'd suggest finding out what the theme of the wedding is (maybe use one of their candle holders or something) and match...

    OG question

so how would I fix that for next time? I did my mash at around 160 deg for 1 hour in 1.5 gal (per instructions) then sparged it with 3 quarts of 160 deg water ..added 1 more quart for a total of 2.5 for the hour long boil.

    OG question

Target was 1.061 My measurement (taken right before adding the yeast at approx 80 deg F) was 1.051 maybe it's not that far off, I'm just wondering what that would do to the alcohol %. NOT that it matters too much, I'm more into taste then into getting drunk. Thanks

    OG question

First let me say SORRY if this is a repeat question (I'm sure it probably is), but I couldn't find anything. I just completed my 2nd Partial Mash batch and both times my OG reading was about .05 away from what the instructions said they should be. Is this a MAJOR issue, and how can I fix that...

    Type of water

I'm still pretty new to the brewing thing ...but I've been told by several people that distilled is BAD .. I've been told to use spring water ..or if you have good tap water, use that, but boil it first to remove the chlorine

I Wish Someone told me before I started homebrewing...

I wish someone had told me You DON'T have to spend a million bucks on the fancy stuff. Plastic buckets work just as well (if not better) than the glass carboys.

    "Apartment" sized kegerator

the freezer stays at around 25 degrees ..and the fridge is at about 40 so far ..no frozen beer in the lines The inside "usable" dimensions are 24" wide x 24" deep x 31" tall I think it would fit 3 corny kegs + the CO2 tank pretty easy (plus a little room in the door and around the kegs for...
