I think this is more of what it is. I definitely washed and sanitized everything but the fermenters, carboy, tubing, etc. retain the smell of the brew. you've never had any off flavors from a previous batch into your current batch?

I originally used the sanitizer that came with my kit - Easy Clean (no-rinse cleaner). from here on out i will be using lodophor BTF sanitizer.
