Finished my keezer just to scrap it

Thanks. Yes, I no longer have any fans or blowers with the taps on the collar. I don't really get any foaming issues due to warm lines/taps now. I did switch up to 10' lines I believe is what I calculated. Even though my old setup worked reasonably well, the taps right on the collar works...

Finished my keezer just to scrap it

Since the taps were mounting through the wall I had an insulated 3” PVC loop to run the beer lines. The blower circulated cold air through the PVC loop. Also there was an insulated box behind the taps which was part of the loop. The blower worked much better than a computer fan.

Finished my keezer just to scrap it

The replacement keezer is still going strong and in use today. We have moved homes and don’t currently have a bar setup so I moved the taps to the collar.

Keezer in Basement, Taps Upstairs? Possible?

I had a setup where I had my keezer on the other side of the wall of my taps. I used PVC and a blower to try and keep the taps cold. I probably had about 6’ of PVC. I finally was able to get a good pour, but the biggest problem was the condensation that would freeze in the keezer. The kegs...

Is my all grain kit milled enough?

AIH is my local store. Overall great place, but I had a batch that didn’t seem milled finely even though they claimed double milled. I have ordered three all grain recipes from them. First time I was in person and spoke to the person and got a reasonable grind. Second recipe was mail ordered...

    Hoppy Lagers

I am working on a Palisade Steam from AIH. Tasting after fermentation had some nice hop flavors.

    Perlick Faucet Problems...

Funny, one of my perlicks just started leaking from the lever print. Pulled it out and it looks like it was pinched. I have never taken it apart. Adventures in home brewing seems to have parts in stock.

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

Adding some I should help with the steady state error that I think you are describing.

1st batch kegged and tastes green

Right now it is at 38 degrees F. I did put 10 psi of CO2 after filling the keg. You think I should take it out of the keezer and warm it up?

1st batch kegged and tastes green

This past weekend I tapped the keg of my first batch. It was a Brewers Best kit Scotch Ale. I ended up with about 4.5 gallons and I used 2.5 oz of priming sugar. 2 weeks in the primary and 2 weeks in the keg with the sugar. Tried it on Saturday and it was flat with a green apple taste. I...

    Help me pick a smoker!

I also have a Cookshack smoker and it is a great quality product. If you want an electric, there is a strong customer base for Smokin-it smokers which are very similar style to Cookshack, but cheaper. I would recommend Cookshack, but if too pricey than look at the Smokin-it.

Getting new equipment - what do you think?

I just took my first step toward home brewing and buying a beginners kit. Adventures in Home Brewing is just a little ways from my house. The main components that I went with are: Brewer's Best Starter Kit 8 gallon kettle 2 6.5 gallon buckets (Came with starter kit) 6.5 gallon glass carboy 5...

    Home Bar Design

My bar has the keezer on the back side of the wall. I put a decent size blower to circulate air around the lines so I don't get foam any more. Computer fans didn't cut it.

    No refrigerant?

Same thing happened on my first keezer build. Compressor would run non stop and never cool.
