    Wow, yeast are strong...

I guess with all the sanitation and proper care for yeasts, I was expecting to mess them up some how. These yeast in this growler havent been sealed from the outside. But now that I think about it, its not that surprising, you are right. If you can culture and use yeast from a bottle of beer...

    $#@%ing POS A$$ Property Management

My future roommate, whos previous landlords were apparently not able to be contacted, so now he has to bring in someone who has to fill out an application to co-sign for him, its going to be another week before we can move in because they have such absurd standards. They are a college rental...

    Wow, yeast are strong...

So I have been playing with yeasts, cooling them, making starters etc. I recently made a starter from a vial of trub from my Oatmeal Stout. I just made a 1L starter, moved it to a larger container, added another 1L of wort. It was just experimental fun learning. It has been sitting in maybe .5L...

    Critique my Recipe: ESB

Funny thing actually... I have never had an ESB. I was going for a Pub Ale, easy drinking malty style bitter. I just say ESB because it was intended to be stronger than an ordinary pub ale/bitter. I really have no idea what I am talking about still, but I am learning! Thanks for the input!

    Critique my Recipe: ESB

Like I said, I have no idea what the ingredients actually taste like, I was just going off the little bit I remembered and the help of the LHBS. The caravienne does seem very out of the style, but thats ok, live and learn, theres always the next ESB. Thank you for the input orfy, I will take...

What sanitising agent do you use.

Im a fan of StarSan. Cheap, easy, lasts long, works fast... I see no reason to use something else.

Bud/Miller/Coors - Which one would you pick?

I got to say PBR, followed by High Life, followed by Bud

    Bottling and warm temps

I would think it would be fine for their temps to raise, but would not advise it. Even though fermentation has ceased, there still could be some adverse effects on your beer from the temperature fluctuation. Just my thoughts...

    Starter- airlock and container

If you have any old growlers, they work great! I got a flask because I can heat it on the stove, and then cool it in cold water. I then move the starter to a growler. I then bring up the size of the starter. Funny thing is, I still havent used a starter yet... edit: There isnt much of a need...
