I have a hef in the primary now, but plan on racking to a secondary on top of 5lbs of dried apricots. Do I need to boil them for a certain amount of time before racking on top of them to try and get rid of nasty stuff, or what would be the best course of action to take. Thanks in advance Jesse

You would almost have to figure using the whole packet would be like using a starter for normal 5 gallon batches....I would use the whole thing.

I have found a place east of allen texas that fills any size co2 tank for fairly cheap. Its called Fort Paintball, and she filled my 15 lb tank for 20 bucks.....I just wanted to let all the north texas brewers know what I have come across. Jesse

I have read this whole thread.and I can't seen to find a definate ag recipe for this brew...any help

i looked at the bottom of the bottles that i have and all of them say 7 (other) on them and also say "only to be used for water" and "not to be used for any other liquid"...I think im just gonna steer clear of using these bottles. Thank you all for the great advice and warnings.

Hello all, Can 5 gallon water cooler jugs be used for fermenting provided you could find a bung that fits or is this just a horrible idea in general?
